Summary

The 2016 debut bloggers can't stop raving about。 Perfect for fans of The Girl on the Train and The Ice Twins

Everyone knows a couple like Jack and Grace。

He has looks and wealth, she has charm and elegance。 You might not want to like them, but you do。 Though, you’d like to get to know Grace better。

But it’s difficult, because you realise Jack and Grace are never apart。

Some might call this true love。 Others might ask why Grace never answers the phone。 Or how she can never meet for coffee, even though she doesn’t work。 How she can cook such elaborate meals but remain so slim。 And why there are bars on one of the bedroom windows。

Sometimes, the perfect marriage is the perfect lie。

Good premise but truly terrible dialogue。 Like how an American who had never left her house or watched TV might imagine the British would speak。 Had it been set in the 60s it might have worked for me。 I predict the Lifetime movie premiere within months。

DNF- too dark for me。 I LOVE thrillers and many books similar to this one…。 but when i read to 35%-45% , i was considering putting it down… and when I got to 50% and animal abuse was mentioned I just couldn’t finish it。 Disgusting and dark。

I really enjoyed this book。 It was a page turner for me。 It was suspenseful and disturbing at times。 I did not like the ending and felt that it needed more clarity。

Amru

The easiest five stars I’ve ever given 🥰❤️

Hard to read at points because of my intense hatred for Jack and just his overall sadistic ness。

Scarlett W

Terrifying and meaningful。 Every girl should read this and to be more careful when it comes to relationships and “ideal” partners。

What a twisted character Jack was!! This book was nerve wracking。 It kept me guessing at every turn。 There were nice twists and Millie was adorable。 I wanted to find out what happened to her at the end。 Pretty good audiobook。 I would definitely read more books by this author。

This book had my brain working and my heart pounding all the way through。 I was constantly on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next。 This story flips back and forth between the past and the present which can get tedious in some stories, but not this one! Every chapter is for a purpose and they all weave together beautifully。 This psychopath is absolutely terrifying。 We know the monster that he really is, yet he effortlessly fools everyone in his life into thinking he is Mr。 P This book had my brain working and my heart pounding all the way through。 I was constantly on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next。 This story flips back and forth between the past and the present which can get tedious in some stories, but not this one! Every chapter is for a purpose and they all weave together beautifully。 This psychopath is absolutely terrifying。 We know the monster that he really is, yet he effortlessly fools everyone in his life into thinking he is Mr。 Perfect。 And just when you think he can't do anything worse, he proves you wrong。 In hindsight, his 'motivation' is a bit unrealistic but the angry red in my eyes helped me to overlook that。 The ending is the very definition of poetic justice in this case。 。。。more

Yikes, this book was disturbing! It definitely kept me interested in continuing to read to find out what happens。

Personally dis not enjoy the plot。

I was super unsure about this book in the beginning because I was so uncomfortable with a controlling husband situation。 The author does a beautiful job bringing it full circle and the ending even made me teary eyed。 Definitely recommend。

Every time I select a book by an author I'm not familiar with, I wonder if I will enjoy the read。 No exception here。 I'm THRILLED to say that this book far exceeded those expectations。 Excellent read and a book that I found myself picking up to continue reading every chance I had。 Not only was the story line exciting, thrilling and suspenseful, it borders on the brink of something that could in fact occur in real life and that thought alone should make ALL women cautious about who they let into Every time I select a book by an author I'm not familiar with, I wonder if I will enjoy the read。 No exception here。 I'm THRILLED to say that this book far exceeded those expectations。 Excellent read and a book that I found myself picking up to continue reading every chance I had。 Not only was the story line exciting, thrilling and suspenseful, it borders on the brink of something that could in fact occur in real life and that thought alone should make ALL women cautious about who they let into their lives。 As tragic as this story was, I found myself applauding the ending and I would have been disappointed if there was any other outcome。 。。。more

Ystävien ja perheenjäsenten olisi hyvä sopia tällaisia tilanteita varten koodisanoja tai sormimerkkejä。 Näitä miehiä on paljon enemmän kuin osaisi kuvitella, juuri niiden joukossa joista vähiten osaisi kuvitella。 Ei näin extreme-tapauksia kaikki, mutta todella uhkailevia kumppaneita, viestejä ja muuta yksityistä kontrolloivia hirviöitä pilmin pimein。 Mutta henkisesti pahoinpidelty ihminen ei välttämättä koskaan uskalla kertoa sen pelossa, ettei häntä uskota。

Alona

This book will have you in tears!!

Second half of the book is fast paced but first half a bit of a drag。 Took me a little push from within to continue reading in the first half。 Pros: Nicely written, satisfactory ending。 Cons: easy storyline

This is one book that I can honestly say, I could NOT go to sleep before I finished it! Each chapter left in such a cliff-hanger that I couldn't help but continue reading。 I, as a few of the other reviews have stated, did read the last few pages a few times just to make sure Jack did get his due。 However, Esther and the last few lines 。。。。 blew me away! Within the first 20 pages I realized where this book was going, and held on to for 100 plus pages hoping maybe I was wrong。 I realized it was time to put the book in dnf for my anxiety and read spoilers for the ending。 Nailed it!

Melissa M

Very fast paced and thrilling but a lot more messed up than I was expecting。 This is not Woman in the Window or even Gone Girl。 Another reviewer described it as demented and yes that’s the perfect word。 If you’re down to read something very unsettling, this will fit the bill。

4。5 stars。I sat and read this in one sitting, simply because I felt I needed to get through the insane nightmare itself。 A had expected knowing what the synopsis eluded to but I was surprised when I guessed wrong。。 there were a few upsetting topics that I needed to skim through almost。 As far as "psychological" this fits。 4。5 stars。I sat and read this in one sitting, simply because I felt I needed to get through the insane nightmare itself。 A had expected knowing what the synopsis eluded to but I was surprised when I guessed wrong。。 there were a few upsetting topics that I needed to skim through almost。 As far as "psychological" this fits。 。。。more

The story is very much centered around DV, a sadistic husband, and a Down syndrome sister。 I thought the build up was huge and really gave readers a very in depth look of what an abused woman goes through, her loss of dignity, but the strength to continue for her sister。 I was disappointed with the ending, and was shocked when it was just over。 The build up was so long that the climax of the story was gone almost as soon as you read it and I felt angry by the time the book was over。 Like one of The story is very much centered around DV, a sadistic husband, and a Down syndrome sister。 I thought the build up was huge and really gave readers a very in depth look of what an abused woman goes through, her loss of dignity, but the strength to continue for her sister。 I was disappointed with the ending, and was shocked when it was just over。 The build up was so long that the climax of the story was gone almost as soon as you read it and I felt angry by the time the book was over。 Like one of those movies you can’t believe they ended that way and you walk out of the theater feeling pissed off, I felt the same way at the end of this book。 But I would def read another one of her books。 。。。more

This marriage thriller is a quick read, but I can't say that I was surprised by anything that happened or that there were big twists and turns。 I did like a couple of the characters, Esther and Millie though。 3。5 -4 starsGrace and Jack Angel have the perfect life and perfect relationship or do they?
